Abraham Lincoln said,

"Upon the subject of education, I can only say that I view it as the most important subject which we as a people can be engaged in."

Education is a priority for me. From earning my under graduate degree, to receiving my Broker's License and advanced real estate credentials, education has always been very important to me. It is my personal belief that education can solve many of our nation's problems.

Because I believe education is fundamental, I started the Bustos Scholarship Fund in 2008 to show appreciation to my clients, their family and friends. I will continue to reward two scholarships to young scholars in our community every year.

Congratulations to the 2010 Bustos Scholarship Fund Winners!

Grace Marie Lien Rieck
Grace is currently a senior at Brighton High School. Grace has worked hard during her high school years to earn a 3.6 GPA and a 33 ACT score all while being the Concertmaster of her high school orchestra, president of the American Sign Language Club, a member of the Utah Youth Symphony & president of her high school music department. Grace is planning to attend Arizona State University this upcoming fall and to major in music performance. She hopes to pursue a career as a violinist and to play in a recognized ensemble when she finishes school . Grace hopes "to lead other young people towards making music a part of their life, because everyone should be able to experience the goodness it can bring."

Shabana Jumagul
Shabana is currently a senior at Granite Peaks High School. Shabana lived in a refugee camp for 16 years of her life in India. In 2007, she came to the United States and didn't know a word of English. She was thrown into high school and in the beginning it was a struggle for her, but since has become fluent in English and a member of her school's Honor Roll. Her family has no education, especially the women in her family, because girls are not given the opportunity in her country. She would be the first and only girl to go to college. Shabana said, "I'm the oldest child... and the impact of this scholarship in helping me to go to school will show my sisters and brother that they can also go to school...to make their life nicer and have a career."
